MCP SSE Mode (Dify and Remote Access)

When running in HTTP mode, the server also exposes MCP protocol endpoints via SSE (Server-Sent Events) and Streamable HTTP. This allows platforms like Dify to connect using the MCP protocol directly.

🔒 Security

By default, Universal DB MCP runs in read-only mode, blocking all write operations (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, DROP, etc.).

To enable write operations (use with caution!):

--danger-allow-write

Best Practices:

Never enable write mode in production
Use dedicated read-only database accounts
Connect through VPN or bastion hosts
Regularly audit query logs

Universal DB MCP

Проект реализует протокол MCP (Model Context Protocol) и REST API, поддерживает 2 режима запуска и 4 способа подключения.

Архитектура

Система поддерживает два стартовых режима:

stdio: напрямую подключается к MCP-клиентам (Claude Desktop, Cursor).
http: запускает HTTP-сервер, который одновременно обслуживает REST API и MCP-эндпоинты (SSE / Streamable HTTP).

Внутренний слой бизнес-логики отвечает за выполнение запросов, кеширование схемы, проверку безопасности и управление соединениями. Адаптеры БД скрывают различия между СУБД.

Безопасность

По умолчанию включён режим только чтение, блокирующий INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, DROP и другие операции записи. Для включения записи используйте флаг:

Рекомендации:

Никогда не включайте запись в продакшене.
Используйте выделенные read-only-аккаунты.
Подключайтесь через VPN или bastion-хосты.
Регулярно аудируйте логи запросов.
